Garden in Transit is an incredible new project in development for children coping with medical, physical, emotional and socioeconomic challenges that will culminate in a feast of flowers on taxis in New York City.
True to Portraits of Hope mission of merging the best of healing arts with public art, thousands of participants at hospitals, schools, and community institutions will paint vibrant flowers - symbolizing life, beauty, hope, joy, inspiration and healing - on weatherproof panels that will be placed upon the rooftops, hoods, and trunks of taxis; creating a magnificent "Garden in Transit"
This project will highlight - on a mass scale - goodwill, hope and triumph on a city, national and international level. Garden in Transit is an amazing collaboration of generations and communities that will culminate in a "moving" and jubilant field of flowers created by kids. The taxi will serve as an inspiring tribute to the capacity to achieve the spectacular.
Proposal for 12,760 New York City taxicabs.
